An 8-voice polyphonic, 8-part multitimbral synthesizer tone generator that made use of FM tone generation.
Despite having a 4-operator FM tone generator, the system is capable of simultaneously playing eight different sounds just like the TX816. Despite appearing to be a more compact version of the TX81Z, which was released in the same year, the FB-01 featured 240 preset voices. As a low-priced, compact multi-part tone generator, the FB-01 was also used for desktop music production.
