Supro Americana 1572VPR Belmont Vibrato Poppy Red Semi Hollow Guitar

Limited Time Offer:  Free Supro Fitted Blue Tweed Hardshell Case.

7.6 lbs

This guitar was on display at the NAMM show.  The guitar may have some minor light scratches, if any at all.  Anything noteworthy will be pictured.  The guitar plays fine and it fully functional.  It does carry a full warranty against and defects or issues that may develop.  In most cases, the protective plastic film is still on the pickguards and pickups.

This one has a small dent on the back of the neck,  some scratches on the side body contours and some bubbled clearcoat in a few places on the fingerboard side.

The Americana Series guitars are replicas of the Supro “reso-glass” instruments, uniquely constructed with a chambered mahogany body and resonant molded top. This semi-hollow recipe retains the unique sonic characteristics of the vintage Supros while providing today’s musicians with a lightweight, highly playable instrument that stays in tune and is easy to maintain.

The ten distinctive models in the Americana reissue series come loaded with authentic “Vistatone” pickups, which reproduce the groundbreaking, single-coil design developed by Valco in the early 1950s. These historic reissues are available in two body styles with a range of available hardware options, including piezo body sensors and a newly developed floating vibrato system.

Historic Reissue

The Belmont Vibrato is a reproduction of the single-pickup, Poppy Red, vibrato bar-equipped, fiberglass Supro electric guitar that was manufactured in Chicago during the early 1960s. The Belmont Vibrato reissue mates a chambered body with a newly developed, composite “Acousti-glass” top. This updated construction preserves the instrument’s signature aesthetics and timeless sound while improving its semi-hollow acoustic resonance and tuning stability.

The Belmont Vibrato’s vintage-correct tuners, vibrato tailpiece and adjustable rosewood bridge are joined by a faithful replica of the legendary Vistatone pickup to bring you a fully realized and worthy reissue of this classic Supro guitar.

Vistatone Pickup

The Vistatone pickup found in the Supro Belmont is a reproduction of the groundbreaking, single-coil design developed for Valco by Ralph Keller in the early 1950s. The Vistatone pickup is cited as prior art in Seth Lover’s PAF patent and is found in many of the most desirable vintage Supro models.

Legendary Sound

The Supro Belmont has an electric tone that is pure 1960’s rock ‘n’ roll, with an aggressive mid-range voice that does not sound like any other instrument.

Our semi-hollow recipe of an Acousti-glass top and semi-hollow body retains the unique sonic characteristics of the original reso-glass models while providing today’s musicians with a lightweight, highly playable instrument that stays in tune and is easy to maintain.

Americana Series

The Belmont and its relatives in the Americana Series of Supro electric guitars were designed by Trevor Wilkinson and David Koltai to capture the spirit and sound of the Art Deco-influenced, historic line of Supro instruments manufactured in Chicago by Valco during the guitar boom of the 1960s.
